From Health magazine
Cheryl Burke, the two-time Dancing with the Stars winner and entrepreneur (she owns a San Francisco dance studio and recently launched a fitness clothing line, chats with Health about how she maintains her amazing dancer’s body, what always gets her energized, and her favorite body part (no, it’s not her legs).
My greatest health accomplishment is:
Not eating fast food!
The health sin I regret most is:
Not wearing sunscreen.
The one thing that gets me energized the fastest is:
Loud music.
My body rocks because …
I dance my butt off.
The key to a flat stomach is:
My workout video Disco Abs.
If I could have any other celeb’s body part, it would be …
Nancy O’Dell’s legs.
Because?
They are so long!
One thing people don’t know about dancing is:
It’s the best workout you can get.
Three healthy things in my fridge right now are:
1. egg whites
2. turkey
3. MonaVie [açai–fruit juice blend]
One not-so-healthy thing that’s in there:
Old chocolate that’s been in there since Valentine’s Day!
If calories didn’t exist, I’d:
Eat lots of sugar—I wouldn’t watch what I eat!
When I need to unwind I …
Go shopping.
The all-time best cure for stress is:
Dancing!
My favorite body part is:
My back.
Because?
It’s long and lean.
If I weren’t a dancer, I’d be:
A makeup artist.
Before I go on stage in front of 20 million people, I always:
Go to the bathroom!

Your sin on not wearing sunscreen will be taken care of by drinking your Monavie. I know as I live in Fla and had a bad case of skin cancer. Monavie in all likelyhood prevented mine from re-appearing. At least got my DR’s talking to themselves
Monavie is just wonderful choice and her body is a great testimony. Keeps you young and healthy. I drink it everyday!!! Be glad to help anyone get started.
In regards to diabetes I have been a type 1 for 43
years very brittle. I was on 7 shots a day using a sliding scale. Iam now on two long acting shots just from drinking the MonaVie for about two months. It has totally changed my life.
That’s wonderful. How long did it take you to get it down? What bottle (s) (mix) did you use? I have two good friends that are diabetes, I would like to help them out. Thank you so much and have a great weekend.

Superjuices don’t come close when comparing costs for antioxidants. Example: A day’s serving of MonaVie (4 oz.) is $7.20 ($45/bottle) or as low as $3.20 a day (at $20 – distributor’s cost) A single Delicious Red Apple costs about $0.75
For MonaVie,that gives you a ORAC of 2,698 umoles (29.57 ml per oz times 4 oz.times 22.81 according to AIBMR). That also gives you a total phenolics (all antioxidants) for the day, of 175 mg. for 4 oz.
The 22.81 ORAC and 1.48 mg phenolics are from the MonaVie-sponsored study by AIBMR Life Sciences.
Now compare it to a SINGLE Red Delicious Apple. Average weight 150 gms.
Total ORAC per apple: 6,413 umoles. (42.75 umoles times 150 gms)
Total phenolics (total antioxidants): 520 mg per apple. Apple data from USDA ORAC Table of Selected Foods – 2007
SUMMARY: ORAC: MonaVie: 2,698 Apple: 6,413
PHENOLICS: MonaVie: 175 mg Apple: 520 mg
COST: MonaVie: $3.20 to $7.20 per day Apple: $0.75/day
To Food Tech in Calif. I love Mona Vie more than than I want to argue with you. Millions of people are drinking Mona Vie and it is GLOBAL. Which means it is World Wide. There is always one bad apple in the group, not naming names. You do whats best for you, I have ate an apple a day for weeks even drank apple cider vinegar, and I have never had the results of feeling this GREAT from them. So God Bless, You, do wants best for you. But my husband is pain free (priceless) and we are happily promoting Mona Vie because it WORKS FOR US!
Lisa,
If I charged you $45 for the apple and called it by some exotic name, I would wager you’d “feel” better. It’s called the placebo effect. Research the term.
There is nothing in MonaVie that would give you any healing benefits. By nature, fruit juice is mostly water. That’s why it’s a “juice.” Fresh fruits are far more concentrated with phytonutrients than any of the so-called superjuices.
Don’t believe me? Review the USDA ORAC Table of Selected Foods – 2007. There is item after item with much higher levels of antioxidants than MonaVie (or any superjuice.) Still don’t believe it? Ask any dietician.
I’ve been a food technologist for thirty years (five years in a fruit juice lab) This product is a scientist’s nightmare and a marketer’s dream.
Food tech in ca,
You talked about the placebo effect.
Since, taking MonaVie I’ve been able to get off Lipitor and my Doctor said my cholesterol is excellent after Lab tests done on my blood samples.
Last winter for me colds and fluswere cut down to zero.
I think you have to try this product before clasifing it as a scietists nightmare. You can do this by going to http://www.the-team.biz/mv1629536
Food Tech in Calif. God Bless you for being afraid to use your name, MY NAME IS LISA FOWLER, I don’t hide behind a lable. I am educated enough to know that if you put the right nutrition in your body, your body has the ability to HEAL itself the way God intented it to. I am turning back the hands of time on my body with Mona Vie. I have heard testimony after testimony of what this juice is doing for people. Like I said I have tried eating and apple a day and it didn’t work for me. I happily invite you to go eat your apple. Go to foodmatters.com and check out the video. The first thing Dr’s normally say is change your diet and I did. As far as Cheryl goes there is a whole list of celebs. drinking it.
Lisa,
You and I agree that it’s important to eat properly. That includes a diet with fruits and vegetables.
It’s also important to know what you are putting in your body. If MonaVie were just another fruit juice on the market shelf no one would really care.
The issue is MonaVie makes nutritional claims that are misleading. If you believe that this is a source of antioxidants that can somehow replace your daily servings of fruits and vegetables, then you are very much mistaken.
If you believe that this product has some sort of curative powers, then again, you are mistaken.
As a distributor, you must be aware, that it is illegal for you to make this claim.
If MonaVie were actually able to treat or cure any affliction, then why doesn’t the company simply fund a clinical study to prove it?
Why do people continue to believe the snake-oil salesman? The MonaVie funded study )AIBMR – Dr. Schauss) documented the ORAC and total phenolics of this juice (22.81 ORAC, 1.48 mg/ml phenolics)
Did you know that concord grape juice, right from the store shelf, has much higher values (25.9 ORAC, 2.60 mg/ml phenolics) UCLA – 2008
Are you willing to call Dr. Schauss a liar?
As for celebs endorsing this, or any other product, who cares. Do you think any of them would know the difference between a anthocyanin and a catechin antioxidant?
In this economy, do you believe it’s a good idea for people to buy a fruit juice fo $20 to $45 a bottle?
There are several clinical studies out on MonaVie.
You can buy store shelf concord grape juice, and spend $0.35 per day or MonaVie and pay between $3.20 to $6.40 per day.
Concord grape juice will give you an ORAC of 25.9 vs. MonaVie’s 22.81 and total phenolics (antioxidants) of 2.6 mg/ml (grape juice) vs. 1.48 mg/ml for MonaVie.
Simple Math
Food tech in California afraid to use your real name, You can prove your point and say what you want, because you are going to anyway. But MILLIONS and Millions of testimonies can’t all be wrong. I know I live with my husband and he hurt day after day for a YEAR. And in within 4 days HE WAS PAIN FREE, AND IT WAS PRICELESS TO US. OH, I MIGHT ADD HE HAD NO SIDE AFFECTS TO DRINKING MONA VIE, UNLIKE THE PAIN MEDS HE WOULD HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED!!! I THINK WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH DEATHS AND ADDICTIONS TO PAIN MEDS! AS FAR AS THE APPLE GOES. WE EAT THEM TOO. AND AT ANY GIVEN TIME YOU CAN STOP BY MY HOUSE WE HAVE THEM IN THE REFRIG. SO I AM NOT AGAINST EATING FRUIT AS A MATTER OF FACT I AM ALL FOR IT!!!!
MONA VIE IS A HEALTHY CHOICE FOR MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS, Nicksmommy512@aol.com, 919-554-1402 or sponsor#1961800 at Monavie.com , LISA FOWLER
I invite you to watch this, It is not affiliated with Mona Vie in anyway.
http://foodmatters.tv/
Lisa thanks for the link to foodmatters. Great stuff their. Be well.
Has anyone experience their child with cerebral palsy benefiting from monavie?
I got started on this product 2 weeks age as did my girlfriend. Her diabetes sugar numbers have dropped from 240 to 185 at bedtime and her energy level is the best I have seen in 2 years. We both have lost 8 pounds in these 2 weeks.I have become an independent distrributor and can be contacted at t1241c2@aol.com
It is wonderful to have Cheryl share that she drinks MonaVie! MonaVie has truly changed my husband, Richie and my life! Our aches and pains have diminished and my husband (age 70) can close his fist which he could not after just 4 days of drinking MonaVie! Both of us now enjoy excellent overall health. I am a breast cancer survivor who had terrible hot flashes and mood swings. MonaVie has taken care of greatly diminishing both of those symptoms. I have more focus and mental clarity now. Just last month, I was told by my Dental Hygienist that my receding gums, destined for Periodontal Surgery, have actually healed themselves by 3 millimeters after an annual gum inspection! That took a year of drinking MonaVie! Certainly well worth it! My Dental Hygienist was amazed that my gums have “grown back”! We will NEVER stop drinking MonaVie. My husband also drinks MonaVie Pulse and his cholesterol has gone down over 30 points. We live in Citrus County, Florida and enjoy being outside. I rarely wear sunscreen and I have not had a serious sunburn in the last 6 months. I attribute that to drinking MonaVie! If you have any questions or would like to hear more about this please call me on 352-613-7553 or email pfuhst@tampabay.rr.com Thanks Health Magazine for airing these comments!
Wow – I’m really impressed with all the comments of people that have had improved health with MonaVie. I too have been a sufferer of Arthritis. I used to go to bed with him and get up with him every day. Doctors just said take a pill that I would have to live with it for the rest of my life. I’m 73 still working and although I’m not working hard I feel better, look well, and feel better. I was thinking today, I haven’t had a joint pain since I don’t know when. It just disappeared. But I’m a faithful MonaVie user. Want to know how it helped my son with his ‘thinking’ process as a sufferer of Schizophrenia or Schizo-Effective disorder? Write me at agneszeer@gmail.com. No it does not claim to heal but for my son it has cleared a terrible acne problem (because of all his med’s), his thinking seems to ‘as he would say’ lined up his thoughts effectively and able to work some. Drop me a line.
Wow, you’d think with all of the anecdotal evidence from the prvious posts, there would be giant crowds of people at MonaVie’s doors demanding this elixir.
I’m sure most of you can figure out, that the stories from above are from moralless distributors with wild imaginations.
The science is very simple. MonaVie has a lower ORAC and lower phenolics (antioxidants) than concord grape juice, cranberry juice, apples, almonds, plums, peanut butter, etc,,
Check the USDA ORAC Table of Selected Foods – 2007
By the way, if the FDA finds out that there are distributors making these unproven claims (using their real names?)they could be in big trouble.
hmmm…my migraines have gone away, is that in my imagination?
And they aren’t claims when these are people’s experiences, will it work for everyone, maybe not, but it worked for me.
Also, MonaVie doesn’t make any claims that it treats, prevents or cures anything.
I know that many of you feel the need to argue with the thought that nutrition will make you feel better. We have been so busy just blindly putting “food-like substances” into our bodies, that we didn’t even notice the lable that used to be present on things like margerine stating “Imitation” or “Food Product”. They were able to get away with leaving the lable off because they inject the over processed food-like substances with recommended daily allowances of vitamins. Now, we are trying to force our bodies to metabolize these chemically altered foods and they can’t break down and metabolize properly. This is like trying to put a tupperware lid on a ziplock container. Not the right fit. Sure, it’ll do in a pinch, but I wouldn’t try tippinig it sideways! Okay, that was a bit off as a metephor. But, you get the picture, right? I say we give our bodies the real food that God intended. We were created in a GARDEN, right?? I think there was a reason for this. Still not sure what all the fuss is about? Do your research. Read some of Pericone Promise, or Is Fruit Worth The Squeeze. If you are still skeptical, check out my web site at http://www.mymonavie.com/SueGardner/
Mona Vie products have almost killed people If you read
up on Mona Vie has caused bleeding problems on several
people then look in to the doctors on staff such as
Dr Niles A convicted Rapist You figure out the rest .
go to http://www.purplehorror.com/ and See whats really
Going On !!
Telling someone to go off their diabetes meds and drink fruit juice is totally irresponsible, even for a MonaVie distributor. You should be ashamed
To the food tech in California,
Monavie doesn’t have a placebo effect, it really works. Before I started drinking Monavie ,I was eating apples everyday because I believed in an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well let me tell you I got sick seven to ten times a year but I when I started drinking it, no sore throats, no allergies no pain and and made my eyesight so clear I didn’t have to visit the eye doctor to change my lenses because every year ( before the drink ) I was forced to go see the eye specialist because the eyes were worsening, almost blind, mind you I was taking vitamins everyday too. So no matter what I say, I don’t have to convince you, keep your simple math to yourself. I am a pharmacist and a cls by trade trade,(in my country). And there’s no way you can convince me otherwise. I don’t know what life has done to you,but I feel sorry for you. This is just a testimony from myself and Monavie doesn’t claim to treat or cure any illness and it’s not approved by FDA because it’s not a drug, it’s just fruit juice, but it works !
For Susan Tubbs, I don’t know what country you’re from, but in the U.S.A. we need scientific evidence before saying something can treat or cure any disease. I’ve eaten pickles all of my life, and I don’t have cancer. Do you think pickles have some healing powers? If you believe MonaVie can treat any condition at all, then the company needs to pay to have a clinical study conducted. Why haven’t they?
Tom, there are ZERO clinical studies involving MonaVie. There is one study paid for by MonaVie (AIBMR Life Sciences) that was poorly done (using the wrong initial serving size). All that study found was that MonaVie had a lower ORAC and total phenolics than apples, almonds, babyfood, peanut butter, plums, etc..
I’m sorry you were duped, but that is no reason to try to drag others in to the scam with you.
In Response to your pitiful reply to Susan Tubbs….
The lady never mentioned ANYTHING about MV “treating
any condition at all…….YOU DID!! Go Back to your jar of peanut butter Henry Weiss and leave people to enjoy whatever benefits they may receive in life.Just as importantly, leave those people alone who wish to share their own experiences, hopefully to the benefit of their fellow man, friends, and neighbours.Just go away!!
Wayne, besides looking increasingly more pathetic each time you let your brain farts spill out over onto your keyboard, you would have to be virtually brain-dead not to see the claims in Susan’s post.
Seriously genius, go back and re-read it. Take the blinders off and really read it. Done? Yeah, those were claims that you saw.
Now here’s the question I pose to you folks. I’ve seen claims by distributors that this product increases one’s energy, and another that states that it helps one get to sleep at night. Now my question is, how can it do both? And don’t those conflicting claims sort of lay bare the lie in both of them?
First question, has there been good results with weight loss?
Secondly, has there been any success stories with people with Dementia?
YES MY GIRLFRIEND LOST SEVERAL POUNDS HER FIRST FEW MONTHS DRINKING THE JUICE AND HAS KEPT IT OFF CONTACT ME AT JRL4913@GMAIL.COM IF U HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS. I AM TIRED OF THE DEBATE BLOWING THRU HERE ITS A LOT OF HOT AIR AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED. JEFF REED
Do you know of anyone who has benefited from Monavie suffering from early stages of aggresive Dementia?
Food Tech in California, The link below is a study on the opti freeze dried acai. The peer reports on this study has been recognized in the food chemistry community.
Mona vie offers a convenient way to get nutrient benefits from fruit that most people in our society today are not getting.
http://www.realhealthanswers.com/docs/ACAI_USDA_ARTICLE_FROM_JOURNAL.pdf
Barry, I’m familiar with the study on freeze-dried acai.
Basically, the freeze-dried acai is a processed food. The water was removed, which in turn, artificially raised the ORAC score to 1,027 umoles/gm.
1,027 umoles sounds impressive…if you were just eating the acai concentrate by itself. But you’re not. The end product is MonaVie, which is a blend of many different items.
MonaVie itself, has an ORAC of 22.81 umoles/ml (AIBMR/Dr. Schauss). So, the 1,027 from the acai is now diluted with other ingredients by a factor of 1:45 (1,027 divided by 22.81). So, the acai does not bring much to the party, other than marketing propaganda.
Check with your doctor before using MonaVie if you have diabetes. One ounce of MonaVie has 5 gms. of carbs and 3 gms. of sugars. This is about the same as many soft drinks.
Barry, that study is for the acai concentrate, which is but a small percent of MonaVie. The concentrate had an ORAC of 1,027 umoles. MonaVie has an ORAC of 22.81 umoles. A dilution factor of 45X. Plus, the well-documented low anthocyanin level of MonaVie indicates low amounts of acai in this product.
Barry, the study is for acai, not for MonaVie. MonaVie has very little acai in it (AIBMR)
Food Tech in CA
The acai in the study with food chemistry is same acai in the MonaVie blend. The 4 ounce daily recommendation of the MonaVie blend is delivering the daily requirement for orac to fight free radicals.
What is your complaint with this product other than people saying how it has improved their health. Doctors are seeing tests on cholestrol and blood pressure with significant improvement directly related to the MonaVie consumption. Point in case, my banker, with doctor supervision, is completely off his blood pressure and cholestrol meds by using the MonaVie Pulse food product. There are many others with this same experience and with this kind of efficacy how could you doubt the validity of the product. If we deliver the proper nutrients to our body it will react accordingly. Nutrition is the most important health care plan on the planet, prevention.
Barry, throwing an orange into a swimming pool doesn’t make it orange juice. The acai is too diluted to influence the final product. Acai: 1,027 umoles – MonaVie 22.81 umoles. Exactly, what is special about MonaVie? Leave out the anecdotal stories please.
Antioxidant Comparison of MonaVie vs. a Raw Plum
ORAC: MonaVie – 22.81 umoles/ml. Raw Plum – 62.59 umoles/gm.
Total Phenolics (all plant-based antioxidants) MonaVie: 1.48 mg/ml. Raw plum: 3.67 mg/gm. The plum easily wins
MonaVie Vs. Concord Grape Juice: (4 oz serving) ORAC: MonaVie: 2,698 umoles. Conchord Grape Juice: 3,123 umoles. Total phenolics: MonaVie: 175 mg/4 oz. Concord Grape Juice: 307 mg/4 oz.
Aggie, some people have ethics, and are interested in facts and the truth, not just stories to try to sell fruit juice to gullible people.
I was suffering from numbness in hands, feet, & cheeks (also was waking nightly with awful sweats). An EKG showed I had an “atriel flutter” that was corrected by drugs through an IV. Blood work was all OK, but still felt lousy. A Doctor friend of mine (yes- a Dr.) suggested I try Mona Vie. That was a month ago. I feel GREAT! No more symptoms, just good energy, good sleep, 100% better!!! My wife was so impressed, we are now distributors for this awesome product. I urge anyone and everyone to try it. You won’t be disappointed!!! revans21@kc.rr.com
Terry, my cholesterol is normal, and I don’t use MonaVie. I haven’t had a cold in four years. How would you explain that?
Your Cholesterol maybe normal, but everything else stops right there!!
To Food Tech,
Frankly your comments regarding your own health, along with most of your others, are meaningless. The fact remains that Terry had a problem which he no longer has. The facts are that many others had experienced problems which they no longer have. The facts are that they feel the benfits have been brought about because they have taken Mona – Vie. All the snide comments in the world will not alter those facts. End of story. I notice that despite a number of requests to do so, you have previously declined to share with us the qualifications you feel you have that give you the authority to make some of the pronouncements you so regularly post. Is there a reason for this modesty?
John
John, the facts are you don’t have any facts. All I read are anecdotes. I guarantee that each and every one comes from a MonaVie distributor who is trying to con his way into our wallets. My background: food technologist for thirty years, five of that in a fruit juice lab. MS in food science from UC Davis.
Why dont you contact the guy who owns CNN TV? Ask him
if somebody tried to ‘con’ their way into HIS wallet!
No of course you won’t.Why? you may find a reply that could possibly turn your little fantasy world 180!!
For those that would like a second opinion, please read this article: http://www.mensjournal.com/superjuices-on-trial
A word to the wise. MonaVie monitors many of these sites. It is illegal, and also against MonaVie policy, to make claims of treatment or cures. Those of you printing your names and/or I.D. numbers run a great risk of losing your distributor license. Plus, the additional risk of being confronted by the FDA.
For Ashlee and Lisa: No, MonaVie doesn’t make these claims, but you two sure did. As MonaVie distributors you have opened yourselves and the company to legal action.
Ashlee, the acai used in MonaVie is a blend of opti-acai, which is a powdered freeze-dried concentrate (ORAC of 1,027 umoles/gm) and acai puree. There are no whole berries used in the product.
Please read the following article: http://www.mensjournal.com/superjuices-on-trial
I had bad arthritis in my neck that was giving me severe migraines 3 to 4 times a week. The doctors told me that I had to have surgery on my neck and that I would have to get a shot in my neck every year to block out the pain. What made it worse is that they said that I might have to have surgery again because this was not a cure…I started drinking MonaVie Active and after only two weeks my headache and neck pains were gone. I live a pain free life now. Thanks MonaVie…www.20billionrace.com
You can read my response to a letter quoting Dr. Schauss and his many errors at: http://www.purplehorror.com
I thought that response was nothing but clean.Just trying to get my point across just like this foodtech
character is doing. What pray tell, is wrong with that?
Wayne. Nothing is wrong with that. I always try to be civil.
Don’t you dare Ruthie.I wouldn’t give this know all the time of day.You also wouldn’t know after 60days if he is true to his word and took the blend regularly anyway.I just wish he would find some other column to do his stirring. He would be better served using his amazing talents,by having a go at the Monsanto’s and Bayers of this world.Mmmmmm !!
Ruthie, I will try it for two months if you will pay for it. Otherwise, my research says store shelf cranberry juice has the same level of antioxidants for far less money.
What is more important of course Ruthie, which our guru failed to point out. Is the blend. It is not just about antioxidants, but the combination of the carefully selected fruits, and just as importantly(amongst other vital ingredients) is the anti-inflammatories that are prevalent.
Hey there,
really freat post! thanks to you I’ve finally decided to give a shot to this “miraculus” fruit. Do you know where i can find free trials?
Kind regards
Sammy
Hi Sammy, not sure where you live.Let me know and I may do some delving for you.
Rgds
And what scientific study verifies this, Wayne? None. So, we are taking your word for it. Don’t be a marketing sheep. Think for yourself.
What if I told you that I made a fruit juice out of the dingleberry? Would you rush right out and buy it because it sounds exotic?
Isuggest(amongst other things) that you make contact with Ralph Carson. As it was he who I understand was largely responsible for the formulation of the 19 fruits blend. Then again you may not,as it all comes down to the size of the gonad dept.
You seem to delight more in “rattling the cages” of those good people who have genuinely benefitted in some way or another from the consumption of this juice.Basically typical of one who feels he/she may have superior knowledge.
By the way I never asked anyone to take my word for anything. The general consensus being….just buy it and try it!Soooo why don’t you do that instead of trying to con and manipulateyour way into asking someone to GIVE it to you free!Whose trying to “pull the wool” now? Baaa Humbug!!
On second thoughts Dingleberry, yes do make some, and instead of me rushing out to buy some,I can get it from you…..FREE!!
You are very good at evading the comments put in front of you, aren’t you?So to return the favour, and seeing as you get your “facts” straight from Dr.Alex,
then there is no need for you to waffle on this column anymore,is there.
Meanwhile I will check with him myself, and see what
explanation he offers on you!
Ask me a relevant question, and I will answer. Make a point
They only allow each individual so many words per day. Do you have something useful to add, for a change?
Well now. You aren’t short of something to say are you!!Do you also have big mirrors scattered thruout your house?
MonaVie: 4 oz. ORAC: 2,698 umoles. Apple: 6,413 umoles
End of discussion.
Yeh well, tell me in all honesty if you can.Do you know of anyone THE WORLD OVER, that has received benefits across a broad spectrum of health issues,by eating apples?????????????? I think not. You’re really becoming just like my mother inlaw.Very tiring!
What benefits are you seeking? I don’t claim apples are a miracle treatment for anything. MonaVie trys to make that claim, which is complete nonsense. I’m only refuting the claim that MonaVie has a high amount of antioxidants. It doesn’t. Quite simple.
Whose talking about miracle treatments here?Certainly not me and most certainly not Monavie.Only you have mentioned it.I would be very careful if I were you.As you could have a law suit on your hands if you make those statements against MV.
They specifically state, and also advise ALL people involved that….the products are not intended to treat, cure,or prevent any disease.Unquote.
Quite frankly I think it’s high time that you went
and “stirred the pot” somewhere else. Why? You are starting to give me a rash!! Just as well I’ve got some juice in the fridge!!!
Really? Go to monavieforum.net There are many illegal testimonials on there. All claiming that MonaVie cures or treats several diseases. MonaVie doesn’t make these claims, but they sure know that their pack of weasel distributors do. They are the ones who need to worry about lawsuits, like the one Oprah filed against them.
Have been reading the biased twaddle from so called Food Tech for some time now. What a sad sad persom. Interesting to see how often he wants to read personal testomonial as medical claim. As someone who seems afraid to put his money where his mouth is perhaps he should be using the word ‘weasel’ a bit less when talking about people giving their honest opinions. Whether this so calld professional, who is very shy about either his credentials or his real name, agrees or not, the opinions expressed by most of the people in this column are their just that, their opinions which nevertheless still carry more weight than soemone whise sole aim in life appears to be to denegrate others and sling dark threats of criminal proceedings against others. I hope I have made my point glearly enough even for ‘Food Tech’ to understand.I suspect his real problem is that he has retired from a position of minor responsibility and now has no one to talk to – Shame.
Wayne, yourself and John are either the same person, or you coincidentally both make the exact same sorts of typographical errors in your posts.
Look, let me lay it out for you folks. Food Tech is concerned that in making these lofty claims about Monavie’s alleged health benefits that you all do (Because it’s the only thing that makes the asking-price for Monavie seem a little less ridiculous…), you folks are risking putting people with potentially severe illnesses in danger. He wouldn’t care about this crap if you folks didn’t act like it was Christ’s blood that’s in the bottle, but you do, and he just wants to be sure that folks have all the scientific facts so that they don’t get duped into killing themselves by abandoning their medication in favor of your snake oil.
He’s a substantially better person than any of you will ever be. Whereas you’re preying on the weak with no consideration to the implication it makes of you as greedy, soulless people, he’s spending his own free time to counteract the damage that you’re doing.
As for the claim that he’s making threats of legal action, you have to be kidding me John. Food Tech is warning you people that it’s illegal to make claims that Monavie has any curative properties, (And calling them testimonies doesn’t change the fact that, yes, they are medical claims just the same…), and that the more you folks do it, the more you risk the law coming down on your heads. That’s it.
You guys are such a clueless bunch, and I’m honestly depressed at the idea that people could be motivated by greed to be so heartless.
Distributors can’t use testimonies, pure and simple. Since MonaVie has not been shown to have high levels of antioxidants, they must use the biased, unverified anecdotes of people who are tring to peddle over-priced fruit juice in a shiny bottle. Cite just one study to refute my claims.
He can’t, Food Tech. What he’ll do is he’ll post another ad-hominem attack on your credibility, or he’ll post some nonsense about how you’re just a “Monavie Hater” and shouldn’t be paid any attention to, but he won’t produce a study that provides solid, peer-reviewed proof that their claims are anything but rubbish.
You and I both know why that is, but very predictably, their troubled minds will produce an excuse for it that’s intended to leave them better off than you for it even though we all know better.
The big problem with that is that it’s so often what you don’t say that can break you. In leaving the matter unaddressed, they’re exposing that they know their “testimonies” are nothing but lies, and that they have nothing with which to substantiate them. That’s why they attack you instead of posting anything of any substance for those of us who aren’t drinking the company Kool-Aid.
I’m seeing a group of soulless money-grubbers engaging in deceit and preying on the weak, and I gotta say, it’s all very illuminating stuff. Keep up the good fight, Food Tech. You’ve got a supporter right here, bro.
John, thanks for using your “real name.” Now we can distinguish you from all of ther other Johns on the planet.
I just want to say that I find the censorship of we so-called naysayers to be disgusting, and moreover, incredibly telling of the Monavie mindset. You have nothing substantial with which to justify your shiling of this over-priced fruit juice and you know it, so you keep those of us who work to expose the truth from having their say. Of course you allow Food Tech to post, because you’ve all effectively mobbed the poor guy, but God forbid you allow someone who shares his opinions to post them. Oh no, can’t do that!
Thank you both for the support. If anyone would like copies of the lab reports showing the low antioxidant levels in MonaVie, please email me at Foodtech101@Yahoo.com
Why wasnt my last mail reply to cyberxion printed. That was a FAIR reply
Don’t bother Wayne. I already don’t much like you folks, and I’m in a volatile mood right now. The results wouldn’t be pretty, Wayne.
Wayne, this site has a BS filter, so most of what you say is automatically deleted.
Like I said if B/S was music, you’d be the Boston Pops
Orchestra!!!!
Interesting discussion on Monavie. Certainly interesting enough that I will go and read up on it. Hopefully it is a solid product that lives up to its reputation. At least they don’t seem to be on the same gravy train all these online vendors for acai berry weight loss products are on. False weight loss claims, and then they very often make it very difficult to cancel the order, leaving many people out of pocket. For an interesting article on acai berries and weight loss see the review on OptimalBodyWeight.com.
Still waiting for you to refute even one of my claims.
4 oz. MonaVie: ORAC 2,698.
ONE Apple: ORAC 6,413
Please refute this claim: MonaVie: ORAC 2,698
ONE apple: ORAC 6,413
Jeannette, this is one of the sites that MonaVie monitors. Making unverified, untruthful anecdotes may get you into a lot of trouble with your company.
Wayne, thank you for spelling my name correctly. To add to Cyberxion’s comments, why is there a need for MonaVie’s energy drink if regular MonaVie already gives you energy?
Well, your reply just confirms to us all that you aren’t employable.Simply because if you had half a brain, you would realise that EMV is there for a different market.NO Different to Coca cola with their range of products. My suggestion to you is (1)
go and find a friend relative who genuinely has a health issue and let him/her try the juice for 60 days. But would you dare???Or(2)Just simply cease your continuous verbal crap on this site and go forth and multiply!!
Re Cyberxion and your obvious angst retorts.Isn’t it amazing how you and foodtech seem to emit wind from your fundamental orifice..that seems to be situated between the chin and the nose.
To enlighten your pea brain! As everyones metabolism
is different taking MV at nite can keep some awake. Others enjoy the benefit of a better sleep they
haven’t experienced in years.Plus it depends on how soon after they consume before they enter for sleep!
I realise for people of your unfortunate lack of common sense and gray matter, may find these things beyond your comprehension. However I’m sure that most folk who subscribe to this site, will also take your one eyed shortcomings into consideration and pray that one day you may cease, and rise from the verbal
gutter. Then leave alone those who wish to share their personal (true) experiences, without being subjected to being labelled scam artists, weasels, morons etc.
You are both obviously on the dole,as it seems you have nothing else better to do than refute the personal benefits the GENUINEPEOPLE on this site like to share.
I dont give a toss what you think.if your peanut butter sandwiches work for you, tallyho! If the 19 fruits blend works for others, thats great.Just leave those folk alone who wish to share with others, without being continually subjected to your so called high & mighty holier than thou verbal diahorrea!!!Get the message?
Listen Wayne, I get that you’re old, and that in your advanced age you’ve lost the ability to properly comprehend reality, but the fact is that Monavie has no health benefits whatsoever. None. I know that it may come as a shock to you, but sweet lies borne of fever dreams are still lies just the same, Wayne, and it’s only because we care for humanity at large that we want to undo the damage that you’ve done in your muddled psychosis.
The science exists to prove rather conclusively that Monavie cannot possibly possess any of the health benefits that you greedy predators want to attribute to it, and it’s available to you to read next time you should enjoy one of your rare, brief moments of lucidity. Just make sure that you’ve got your depends on, Wayne, because this is information that could make even the strongest bowels evacuate themselves.
Wayne, sounds like you need a dose of MonaVie. A bit edgy aren’t you. Jeffrey, I will place your comments in a file I keep, properly named “useless, unverified anecdotes by juice peddlers.”
Douglas Wayne, I’ve known four people who have used MonaVie. Results: Zero. Nada. It’s fruit juice. Let me speak slowly so you can understand: IT’S JUST FRUIT JUICE
You Still don’t get thewhole point here thicko! Look,
I couldn’t give a “fat rats clakka”, if what I was consuming was a mixture of “Montana Mystery Moonshine,
and Wichita Wildwood Weed”.As Long as it works for me,as long as it gives me health benefits, then I will
continue to take it,until something better (that works)comes along. That simply is the be all and end all of the matter!
I am sick and tired of your verbal garbage.Like I previously mentioned, get off this site and leave it to those GOOD PEOPLE,who wish to share their experiences with others.You,Cyber.. R2D2 or whatever
you have the indecency to call yourself, are like a cracked recording. So do us all a big favor and just drop off.Theres a good boy??
Look, if you really think that this stuff is helping you, then by all means continue to take it. However, until peer-reviewed scientific evidence comes along to verify that it’s the magical cure-all you cultist nutcases say that it is (I wouldn’t hold my breath while I wait for it if I were you…), you’d be best keeping your crusty lips shut about any of its alleged health benefits.
You’re doing ill people real harm by telling them that this overpriced fruit-juice will cure them when science has proven conclusively that it can’t. Do you really want to be responsible for killing someone, Wayne? Are you really that vile and heartless, Wayne?
Wayne, don’t engage with the negative people. We who drink MonaVie know the truth. If they want to continue on in the poverty mind set that is their God given right. Be to continue to stay engaged with them is like throwing pearls to the swine. It sad but its a fact of life that no matter what Good a company is or does, there will be those who because of the nature, will attempt to destroy the good that has been created. Move on from here Wayne, talk to those who are looking for you. Be Well.
Blueberry juice: ORAC 29.06 umoles/ml. MonaVie: ORAC 22.81 umoles/ml. Higher antioxidants: Blueberry juice
So What!!Read some of the above articles(if u can).Do
you read anywhere that blueberries have helped anyone. You really are quite pathetic!
Really Stephen? Really now? Listen dude, Monavie’s sales numbers are out. Business is down. Seems like if any of us naysayers had a “poverty mindset”, we’d just jump on board with you folks, being that on average, you make 19% less than minimum-wage selling this stuff. And if sales continue on this downward trend, you’ll be making even less selling it next year.
Monavie offers an amazing business opportunity, and a lot of people are enjoying great success as Mona vie distributors. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees you’ll succeed with Mona vie, however. Everyone would love to enjoy Brig Hart monavie success, but to be successful at all, you’ll need a great deal of specialized training.
That aside, do you know how much like a cultist you sound, Stephen? “Filter out the stuff you don’t want to hear Wayne. Filter out the truth and let the magic of Monavie lead you to your place on the mothership.” It’s hilarious stuff Stephen. :P
Cyberxion, call it what you want. Thousands if not millions know the truth. Is it for everyone? NO. But neither was A number of companies I could mention. I don’t know if your involved with a direct selling network marketing company, but if you are, not everyone who joins will be happy with it. I’m sorry you have such a hate for Monavie. It’s sad really because even though you throw information you think is correct about the company out their, you goal is only to cause division, hate and discord where ever you go. Yet you say my speech sounds cultists. You so called facts about Monavie sales slipping are so far from the truth its not even funny. You remind me of a friend of mine you told me never to bring up the name of Howard Stern in his presence ever again when I just made a simple comment about something I heard Howard say. My friend went on for at least 5 to 10 minutes in a explosive tone that totally blew me away and left me thinking, WOW for someone who never listens to Howard Stern he sure knows a lot about the show. WEIRD. Cyberxion, life is way to short to go around so negative and angry, if Monavie displeases you so much stay away from Monavie and anyone affiliated with them. It will help your peace of mind. Be Well.
Folks, is Wayne the type of person you’d want to buy anything from, let alone a $45 bottle of fruit juice?
Pomegranate juice – ORAC: 3,134 umoles. MonaVie – ORAC: 2,698 umoles. (4 oz.)
I will respond to any lying weasel that trys to say an anemic fruit juice treats or cures any ailment.
If anyone would like a free copy of the antioxidant analysis that I paid for, please email me at Foodtech101@Yahoo.com. I’ve sent over 300 copies so far.
Yes, Wayne. I believe the term is suckers
Sounds like Stephen’s MonaVie may have fermented a bit.
i am astounded by the comments on this site. maybe some people just looking for their 15 minutes of fame ( NOT HAPPENING) and maybe don’t have anything better to do with their time but to remark and react to others that feel good about what theyre doing (since there are only 2 or 3 of you that are reacting negatively). wow-that really blows me away. maybe the 2 or 3 of you should go on to a political website and remark and react to what is going on in our country! you will absolutely have a hay day there and can spend your 24/7 commenting on something that is so much more significant. (not that your comments will make any difference there either)fortunately or unfortunately-majority rules-EVERY TIME. GOD will still love you even if you repel the goodness and heart felt comments of others. i will continue to pray for you KNOWERS OF ALL THINGS! only HE knows what is in the hearts and minds of ALL people. now just go on about your business and have a great day :) when you become a NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER- come back and join us and we MIGHT want to indulge ourselves in communicating with you again (OR NOT!)
drink the juice or don’t but leave the others that love it alone. they’re not interested in you or your comments
Debra, if you just genuinely love the juice, then by all means have at it. I might think that it’s silly to buy Monavie at forty bucks a bottle when you can spend two to get nearly the same thing at the grocery store, but I can’t begrudge you your right to spend frivolously. That’s not our issue with you folks. No, it’s that you claim that it has health benefits that science and simple common-sense say that it cannot possibly have, and that in doing so, you put sick people in real danger.
I was provided a list of thousands of health claims that distributors have made about Monavie in the last couple of years, and the common thread running through them was the suggestion that folks can stop taking their meds and rely solely on Monavie to keep them healthy. Given that Monavie has no health benefits whatsoever, you could be putting folks in real danger by telling them to give up their meds in favor of your overpriced fruit-juice. And as concerned human-beings, we find it very troubling that your greed might end up killing someone.
That’s why we’re here Debra. So save the transparant faux-altruistic clap-trap. You folks may have come to rely on your victims to be gullible, but we know better than that. And if Monavie’s slipping profits are any indication, more and more folks are waking up to the Monavie lie every day. And you know what? It feels fantastic. We’re winning, Debra, whether or not you want to hear the truth. :)
HI _ I have been trying to decide between monavaie and something called the p90x recovery drink.
Can anyone explain if Monavie is better? This one seems to be cheaper but not sure its as good. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Im not sure what u mean by better, are u looking for overall health and a possibility for wealth also? monavie is available in active (aches and pain in joints)pulse98heart healthy and lower cholestrol) and we also have an engery drink called emv which is made of 80%real juice from exotic fruits. u can email me if u would like any more info @ jrl4913@gmail.com or call me anytime 954-802-0085. to your health jeff
Thanks for the e-mail address and phone number. Don’t worry, I’m not going to call or e-mail you, but it does help the investigation along to have some real details better than just having a screen-name does.
I think it’s interesting that the people who hop on this comment thread and start bashing everyone are the people who don’t use their names to identify themselves, while others (not all) offer not only their names, but their contact information…
I think it’s interesting that you think that’s at all relevant, Dave. Besides, you’re giving that information out for wholly self-serving purposes. You’re distributors. How else are you going to get folks to join your down-line, or become customers failing an attempt to recruit them, unless you give them the means to contact you? Besides, it’s just another of your sly tactics. If you can get someone on the phone, you can play your mind-games free of our meddling.
That aside, I’m getting tired of these transparant diversionary tactics, David. You folks know that you have nothing with which to counter our points, so you attack our credibility instead of addressing them. It’d almost be impressive if it wasn’t so tediously obvious.

Sorry Lisa,
Your information is not correct. MonaVie is only equal to 13 fruits if you use 13 fruits that are low in antioxidants in your example. Watermelon is low in antioxidants, so it would qualify.
Most other fruits and vegetables easily beats MonaVie in antioxidants (plums, blueberries, almonds, even peanut butter.)
Here’s a quick comparison:
ORAC SCORE: MonaVie (4 0z.): 2,698 umoles
One Apple: 6,413 umoles
TOTAL PHENOLICS (AKA polyphenols, all plant based antioxidants combined):
MonaVie (4 oz.): 175 mg.
One Apple: 520 mg.
As you can see, MonaVie is way lower in antioxidants than a single apple. And that’s using 4 oz. of MonaVie in the comparison.
MonaVie Data from AIBMR Life Sciences (Director: Dr. Schauss, sponsored by MonaVie)
Apple Data (Red Delicious variety) from USDA ORAC Table of Selected Foods – 2007
This Mr. Food Tech guy thinks he’s got all the answers. I love Monavie and unlike Food Tech am not afraid to admit it. Funny how some people have to drag everyone else down to mediocrity. Monavie is the best thing ever not only as a wellness product but also as a business. We’re having a blast with it here in Ohio!!
Renee,
I don’t think this product is considered an acai blend. The acai conentrate that MonaVie uses has an ORAC of 1,027 umoles/gm. However, MonaVie, itself, has an ORAC of 22.81 umoles/ml.
This means that the acai is diluted by water and other ingredients by a factor of 1:45.
So, the acai, even though listed as number one ingredient, contributes very little to the phytonutrient content of the juice.
No need to believe me. Check the data yourself. It’s very simple. the MonaVie Data (from AIBMR/MonaVie sponsored) can be found at: http://www.aibmr.com/news/pdfs/antioxidant-juice.pdf
Reference table #1 for ORAC and total phenolics
The ORAC and total phenolics (antioxidants) data of other fruits/vegetables/other foods can be found at:

Simple 5th grade math will be required.
This Tim Blanchong guy thinks he’s got all the answers. I love spreading the truth unlike Monavie’s shills, and unlike Tim Blachong, am not afraid to admit it. Funny how some people have to resort to making unfounded, unverifiable, and downright illegal claims about a product’s alleged curative properties to sell their over-priced snake oil. Monavie is the worst thing to happen to ill people, not only as a faux panacea, but as a tool that allows greedy, heartless demons to prey upon them. We’re having a blast spreading the truth the country over!!
There is no added water in Monavie. and 4oz of Monavie is about 7000 orac units, thats about all the human body can absorb daily.
No added water
Sorry Jamie, you’re wrong on both accounts. The fruits are from purees, and the acai is a powder concentrate. Both need to be re-constituted with water. Also, water is needed to make batch corrections.
The ORAC of 4 oz. of MonaVie can be calculated this way: AIBMR (Dr. Schauss) tested MonaVie and found an ORAC of 22.81 umoles per ml. There are 29.57 mls. in a fluid ounce.
22.81 TIMES 29.57 TIMES 4 ounces equals 2,698 umoles per 4 oz. of MonaVie. That is the total for a day’s serving.
Concord Grape Juice has an ORAC of 30.5 umoles per ml. (UCLA, Journal of Agricultural & Food Chemistry – 2008)
So, 30.5 TIMES 29.57 TIMES 4 oz. equals 3,607 umoles/4 oz.
Not to mention the cost comparisons
Do you really think Monavie could do over $1 Bill. in sales in 42 months if there were not dramatic benefits experienced by the comsumers who purchased the product?? Common sense.
The acai isn’t in powder form, its frozen, yes, you can actually got down to the docks where it is shipped to from Brazil and look at the crates full of frozen berries; I was told by someone who isn’t a distributor or a drinker. The point is it is helping people, eating fruit, drinking V8 and other juices didn’t, so how do you explain that? And the placebo effect isn’t the answer I’m looking for; yeah I can see how the placebo effect can explain some of the experiences, but how do you explain someone who isn’t conscious of the effects of the juice actually helping, like someone in a coma or mentally challenged children? It’s all in the results, and your lovely data can’t dispute that.
Food tech: you obviously have never drank Monavie or no more than a taste. Because if you had you would never be able to compare eating an apple to drinking Monavie on a daily routine. Being a five year cancer survivor and eating apples, blueberry, raspberry, banana and vegetables (all organic)for two years and then discovering Monavie I can tell you that Monavie works a whole lot more than just a few fruits and vegetables.
Hey Larry, do you think your continued health could be attributed to the fact that some cancer survivors go on to live long lives, or is it really the overpriced snake oil that you’ve been duped into consuming what done it? Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that you’re healthy. However the anecdote doesn’t really speak to the quality of the product, given that it could just be that your cancer is in remission and you’re doin’ fine all by your lonesome. I’m willing to bet that you could stop taking this stuff tomorrow and you’d never see a difference.
As for you Tom, that something sells well isn’t indicative of its quality. For example, you could dupe people into buying a billion dollars worth of used tampons as a cure for cancer, and all it means is that the people to whom you sold them are easily duped. It doesn’t speak to the quality of the product you’re selling. If anything, the positive results that aren’t being posted by distributor shills are the byproduct of the placebo effect at best, and they’re examples of straight-up fabricated marketing fluff at worst.
Besides, how much of those sales are made by distributors? What’s the actual sell-through on this product? I can believe that the folks at the top of the company food-chain are making money hand over fist selling the product to its distributors, but there’s no indication that those distributors are making that sort of cash themselves.
We can’t take insubstantial distributor claims at face value, because distributors only serve two functions. The first function being to sell the product, and the second function being to turn other folks on to becoming distributors themselves. So any claims of profit are hard to swallow simply because, much like the rest of your posts on the subject here, it only comes across as fabrications meant to sell people on selling the product. I’d really love to see some cold, hard numbers to determine whether or not there’s any money to be made from this product by distributors.
Oh, and Ashlee, honey. Data absolutely can dispute that. And it has. Repeatedly. I know you that it might be hard to accept. You’ve got a lot invested in the product, and to come to terms with how little it’s really worth will expose just how easily you were duped by it, but that you close your eyes tight and cram your fingers in your ears doesn’t stop the wheel of truth from turning, dear. Food Tech is absolutely correct. Even if you won’t admit it to us, you know that he is.
The truth is that MonaVie’s health benefits are negligible at best. You folks cling to the idea that it’s a magical cure-all because that’s your only sales angle. That’s the only means with which you can justify charging folks exorbitant prices for a bottle of fruit juice, so of course you’ll all sit here and swear to your various Gods that it really works. The only problem is that in doing so, you’re opening yourselves and the company up to huge legal issues. You cannot legally make any implication or statement of fact that says that this product has any health benefits whatsoever. Just be wary of the FDA, because it’s only a matter of time before they catch wind of this, and your morbidly brilliant little pyramid-scheme will come crashing down like a house of cards.
As for FoodTech, well I would love to see him face to face with Dr Schauss. But then again Dr.Alex probably wouldn’t waste his time.I know I wouldn’t.
You sound like the John McEnroe of the nutrition world.See I can be serious!!
Tom, I’m amused that you equate sales with quality. All it shows is that the sales force has been effective, and that people will blindly grasp at straws to ease their ailments. Moreover, it shows that you folks are all unscrupulous demons for preying on their illnesses to sell this stuff in the first place. You just watch your profits drop off once the word about the Monavie scam has been spread.
