Whether you’re getting a deep-tissue massage or trying acupuncture for the first time, picking the right alternative medicine professional is important to your health. Here’s how to pick the right one for you.
- Ask for referrals from your doctor, local hospital, or medical school.
- Get a recommendation from a professional organization for the type of practitioner you are looking for. The National Institutes of Health’s Directory of Health Organizations is a good place to start.
- Call your local health department to find out if your state has a regulatory agency or licensing board for the therapy you’re interested in, and then contact that office for referrals.
- Check on the training, certification, or other qualifications of your practitioner. See if he or she will speak with you briefly on the phone for this purpose before you make an appointment.
- Find out how much experience the practitioner has with your health concern and how effective he or she believes this therapy may be for your condition. (Be sure to ask about scientific research, as well.)

I am 77Years young I do not take pills but I doo go see my Chiropractor as often as possible. As fsr as I am concerned he hs done more good for me than an M.D might do. He practices Nutritian also and the only pills I get from him are vitamins. I hear all the time from friends that all they ever get from their M.D is another pill to take and they are forever feeling bad. sooooo I say let the natural work first.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to check the credentials of your practioner. There are many “mail-order” degrees available to those interested in alternative medicine. Make sure you verify that the practioner graduated from an accredited program that is not mail-order.

V8 Juice Low sodium has about 12g. of sugar.
I have type 2 diabetes. Can I drink this V8.
Albert:12 grams of sugar is not a lot of sugar, but any kind of sugar is not good for a type-2 diabetic. That said, V8 has a drink called “Diet V8 Splash”, which has 1g of sugar. Low sodium just means low salt.. Truth be told, you should see if you can find juices that contain no sugar at all. If you have other concerns about what products are safe for you to eat, see if you can meet with a nutritionist, or ask your doctor to give you any materials that he or she has about what is OK for a type 2 diabetic to eat. Also, the internet has plenty of information, too.

I am diagnosed with:
Gallbladder with several stones, inflammation, and sludge in it. I am told to have the Gallbladder removed via surgery, otherwise it may effect my liver, kidneys and pancreas.
Is there any alternative substitute for the surgery? Can the stones be removed some other way? Please advise. It is urgent.
In “The Jason Winters Story” by Sir Jason Winters he writes on page 175: GALLSTONES
Drink one quart of apple juice daily for five days. This will soften the stones to such an extent that you could squash them in your fingers.
On the sixth day, skip dinner and, at 6 p.m., take a tablespoon of epsom salts with water. Repeat at 8 p.m. At 10 p.m. make a cocktail of four ounces of olive oil and four ounces of fresh-squeezed lemon juice. Shake vigorously and drink right down. In the morning, you will pass green stones varying from the size of grains of sand to some as large as your thumb nail. You won’t feel a thing, but will be amazed at the results. Thousands have done this instead of major surgery.”
I have done this very successfully and, yes, I was amazed! Sally

For people looking for natural cures, there are many books out there that can give you lots of options. Also a great source is the Peoples Pharmacy, a husband and wife team. They have columns in many newspapers and a website and books. They have saved me several times.
I am 49 and may be going thru perimenopause. I am experiencing very heavy bleeding and it does not stop without the help of the pill. What alternative medicine can I get to help level out my homone imbalance? I do not want to keep taking this pill Medroxyprogesterone.
About a month ago I was introduced to a hologram chip that is non-transdermal. The hologram chip technology communicates with the body through the human electromagnetic field. This is known as bio-magnetic transfer. It works similar to acupuncture. Check out the web site for all the info ans science behind it. I feel it truly is the next big brake through. (chrispecoraro.cieaura.com) Please e-mail me back and let me know what you think about it and should I use it. Thanks for your help.
where can I find information on alternative treatments for hodgkins lymphoma? The only thing I’ve been able to find is treatments for the symptoms caused by Chemo. normal medicinal treatments are out of the question for me, so what are my options?
I have been told that my PSA test went up 2 points to just the bottom border. I’m not impressed with the meds they want to give me. Is there a herbal alternative to shrink my prostrate? Cancer does not run in my family.
