“Every Sunday morning for the past seven years we’ve met at the same coffee shop, gone running, then spent time drinking coffee together,” says Monica Huff, 38, of Athens, Georgia. “There’s motivation in knowing that someone is waiting for you.”

I totally believe in the “group” concept for running. I know I really look forward to meeting with my group for Sat. a.m. long-distance runs. Keeps me motivated!

I am in full agreement that exercise and activity are typically more fun in groups. It always helps to have someone pushing you on those mornings when you feel a little less than motivated to get up and go. Recently, we started a site that helps with the motivation factor, from near and far. If you are interested, you can check out pics of the last 5K we ran. Soon, we will be encouraging others across the country to do the same and share their experience.
Have a look at http://www.LiveDay1.com. It’s a community where we help each other stay motivated each day. Not selling anything, just working to inspire others.
