Bust Your Diet Slump: Vanessa Trost

By Kimberly Dawn Neumann
From Health magazine

Vanessa Trost, 38
Marketing and public relations consultant
Height: 6′
Goal weight: 170 lbs.

Her dilemma: “I like working out with my trainer, but can’t find the drive to do the cardio myself; it feels like an infringement on my downtime. What can I do?”

Slump-busting plan: For you, going it alone feels like a chore and time away from fun, so don’t force it, fitness guru Geralyn Coopersmith advises. Make each cardio workout a lively session with a close pal, someone who won’t stand for cancellations. And have her set a “punishment” for you if you slack. The thought of being forced to sing “Feelings” at a karaoke bar (or do something equally embarrassing) can be just the nudge you need if you still feel unmotivated.
