It would be better to change “road rage” to “road rage stress” as it would appear that stress is at the root of it all. Renamed, it is possible to see how your rages can be eliminated. Stress has many solutions.
Begin by taking calm, deep breaths when you start getting tense. More oxygen to the brain, more clear thinking; more clear thinking, more great decisions. Full breaths work anytime, in any kind of stress, especially in the car because driving slows down your breathing.

Find an exit, take the ramp and find a place to get out and move around, drink water, stretch, let the traffic ease up. No matter how much of a hurry you’re in, your life is more important than timeliness. This may be the right time to use the cell phone and apologize to whoever has you on a timeclock. Slow your pace and get to your destination with a smile on your face.
