    Thanks
    Don Tessier

  • tom

Milk thistle is available in both liquid and capsule form and is very reasonably priced.

    Don,

There’s a supplement formulated by Usana Health Sciences called Hepasil DTX designed to help improve liver functionality. The pharmaceutical grade supplement contains milk thistle, broccoli extract, green tea, tumeric, olive oil extract and alpha lipoic acid. You can check it out http://happyhealthywealthy.usana.com under products. Wishing you health! Brendan Napier

When mentioning natural care, I believe that it is imperative to include Chiropractic care. With the spine and nerves alligned properly, the body can function at its best, improving overall health. I have been into natural/holistic medicine and nutrition for several years now, and began Chiropractic treatment about a year ago. My overall health has greatly improved. I hope to never be without again.

Have there been any clinical trials on this advice? If not, then I also recommend eating plain rice to reduce back pain, foot soaks in warm sea-salt water to increase fertility, and yogurt rubs to relieve stress. None of these have been tested either, but what the heck. As long as we’re pretending . . .

We have been trying to use more natural products in our home and have really enjoyed using essential oils. They help with so many things from health to cleaning to even natural insect repellent. Our kids even love them!! The best ones we have found are here http://www.doterralife.com or you can visit our blog for more info also at http://www.doterralife.com

  • Joe

Sorry, I put the wrong address in my other post our blog is http://www.doterrahealth.com

  • Robin

Was it absolutely necessary to use photographs where this model’s breasts and buttocks were exposed? Wasn’t this article supposed to be about natural health, not eye candy? Way to go, Healthy Living. Or should I say Maxim?

  • Meghan

    Chris,

Most of the things listed have had trials done on them, you can search http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/ to find out more. Nearly everything is inconclusive (as is most medicine), so it may be worth a shot, you never know what will work for you. I am not one that takes supplements, but I think it is good to have an open mind. I am vegan, and that works really well for me in balancing a lot of things in my life, I also do yoga 4-5 times a week.

i cant believe that CNN linked me to this crapola. why does our country hate science so?? favorite quote: “anecdotal studies do reveal that it may have some merit for the open-minded.” a) what the heck is an anecdotal study? you mean anecdotal (unscientific) evidence not collected through a competently designed study???? b) translation: the overly gullible may (or may not) experience a placebo effect related to spending money on pseudoscience.

  • Elle

I agree with Robin – the photos had nothing to do with the article. The article was about healthy living not beauty tips so the photos weren’t in line with the tone of the article.

  • nipsey russell

    love the comments, too
“When mentioning natural care, I believe that it is imperative to include Chiropractic care. With the spine and nerves aligned properly, the body can function at its best, improving overall health”
    what a load of hooey!
thanks chris cronin for seeing this for what it is.

  • Darci

    Robin and Elle,
If you read the article you would have recognized they had references to both the breasts and butt, so why not show them? Why aren’t you offended by the calves when it was next to the advice on calves? Get over it.

I’m glad biofeedback was mentioned. However, the most effective type, neurofeedback, needs mention. It has been proven effective for a wide range of problems from chronic pain to ADHD to Autism. For more information you can go to my website http://www.arizonaneurofeedbackcenter.com or http://www.eeginfo.com.

Open mindedness is just the beginning of healing, folks!!! There are many proven treatments from across our globe that date back long before the start of western medicine. Healing is a unique and different experience for every individual and when treated as such the process is greatly shortened. Western medicine practitioner continue to tout it’s infallibility despite proven results from “alternative” treatments. I have yet in my experience to hear a Dr. of “alternative” medicine deny the neccesity of any other treatments; they tend to encourage patients to try what they are comrotable with and to EDUCATE themselves as to the options available. Whe was the last time your AMA Dr. told YOU to educate yourself, Chris? It’s uneducated folks like you that feed the AMA’s view that patients just don’t know what’s up and Dr.s are the ONLY way to find out. I feel sorry for you, bud, and pray for your enlightenment. Namaste!

I have three canines that i am treating joint issues with cherries. trying to find out a way of converting their daily input of cherries to a cherry extract that could be added to food. any suggestions. all three canines receive 10 cherries a day.

  • Sally

Black cherry extract–sold at most health food stores–is good for arthritis pain. Not FDA approved–I am sure. Guess it would be good for canines. Anything healthy is better than chemicals.

  • Nay

She’s not naked. . . she’s au natural! Everything is always turned into a sexual thing.

  • Sundus

I don’t mind the ‘naked’ pictures, but I do mind having a model with breast implants… bad propaganda from Health.

  • angel

There have never been any double blind studies done on most of the things that they do in traditional medicine. How many FDA cleared drugs have you seen pulled from the market after unacceptable (and often permanently damaging) side affects have surfaced after years of being perscribed by MDs? At least most of the natural treatments don’t cause permanent damage, death, etc.

  • Wutang

I would like to see more of the girl in the pictures. She looks REAL healthy. ;)

  • Wutang

Sounds like Robin is alittle jealous…
Let me guess, your fat arent cha?

  • Aditty

I’m late on this post, but to answer one of the first comments: I understand that including garlic and onion in your diet and skipping those extra five martinis is good for your liver. Onion and garlic are also natural antibiotic and anti fungal among other things.

  • nipsey russell

what a bunch of loonies are here!! Too much wacky fun to comment on but to Sally who said “Anything healthy is better than chemicals” where do you find anything not made of chemicals? black holes?

  • lisadeb1989

wacky or no, organic health, that’s the issue.I don’t swallow 9 meds a day anymore. they keep pushing them, it’s so fast and easy.I’m taking away the reasons and keeping healthy naturally. I LIKE my liver and kidneys. I intend to use them a long time.

  • Donna

I am new at this so here goes …I have read all your comments and it is said that if you want all natural you have to do it yourself, that means growing it organic and juicing it all for yourself lol…I know it is alot of work, so we think by going to the store we are getting all natural but really as someone once asked me are we really getting all natural? They do have to put something in it to preseve it now thats something to think about bye for now. Donna P.S.Loved all your comments

  • lisadeb1989

Point well taken and well stated Donna. Actually i am growing my own veggies as I fear the integrity of the fresh ones we import. Not many US grown items anymore, I should know, I’m in the intl trade industry and have watcjhed the demise of many US
companies, Like C & H Sugar. You know California & Hawaii. Our domestic sugar cane grows wild and unused while we import beet sugars from around the world. Hawaii has government cheese in it’s super markets. That really gets me. Anyway, appreciate your point but must underscore I use and endorse and great healthy product. it’s good for folks, really……lisadeb1989
