Rozalynn Frazier | Age: 29
Roz is 5′4″ and curvy all over, with a midsection that needs defining. Her challenge: finding styles and fabrics that skim her in all the right places.
1. Casual
A brightly colored shirt paired with a white cropped jacket works perfectly over Roz’s curves. And these stretchy, slightly flared jeans elongate her legs. Jeans, Lee ($42); Jacket ($108), top ($78), and bag ($228), Banana Republic; Shoes, Coach ($258).
2. Office
This supersimple, slightly stretchy suit boasts sharp lapels that add structure and definition. The pants fall about an inch from the floor, lengthening Roz’s legs. And the fitted knit top is a more comfortable alternative to the classic button-down shirt. Jacket ($780) and pants ($395), MaxMara; Sweater, Banana Republic ($58); Shoes, Stuart Weitzman ($230).
3. Dressy
An empire-cut dress with a V-neck and slight drape draws the eye upward, emphasizing Roz’s gorgeous face and cleavage. Saturated colors, like tomato red, work like basic black to create a lean silhouette. Boots are also great for making legs look longer. Dress ($98), boots ($198), Banana Republic.
QUICK TIP: Layer on lightweight knits. They skim over your curves, giving you a body-conscious look.

Ok,
I think it’s great that they featured real ladies for this piece but how about a real budget??? The total cost of the office outfit for the curvey girl is almost what I pay in rent a month. Sorry, but as much as I want to look good I have kids to feed.
Being a curvy girl myself its good to see more reconigtion but at the same time pick something more realistic and cost effective I mean in this day and age that sort of budget isn’t realistic but thanks for including us! We can be curvy and beautiful.
I feel the same as the other two comments and it goes for the show “What not to wear” as well. I understand getting a few classic, well made but pricey pieces are a good thing for your wardrobe but even a jacket or pant over $150.00 is far beyond a budget because it is not just one piece we are talking about. If you need to upgrade your wardrobe with a tasteful look you are talking about at least $1500.00. Not realistic with a lot of peoples incomes and expenses. What about tips for us all on a strict budget?
Were do you get the one piece undergarment? I can take the information about the clothes and buy them at a cheaper price. Love the outfits, but cost is a little to high.
I’m happy to see a real THICK AND FABULOUS real woman model. I agree with these ladies. The clothes are great examples for the curby but pricey. But I can find them at a reasonable price at other stores. I would like to find out where to get the one piece undergarment too?
The one piece garment is nice, but not for me. I’m looking to camoflage my thighs and mid section, not my breasts. Spanks makes a wonderful piece that you can buy at Lane Bryant for about $40.00, well worth the money, but still a bit pricey. A great alternitive, WALMART, they carry the same kind of garments, in two or three different colors, at much lower prices. They range in price from $8.98 to $19.98.
Could we just once see a petite woman. All these folks were taller than I am. I could never wear those boots – I would look about 2 feet high.
I’m with Leah … I was really excited to see a thick-waisted woman like me, but I’m so-called “petite” — I wear a “petite large” size (talk about an oxymoron~), meaning short and fat.
I love all of the looks. What’s really nice is that they would also look good on someone that’s 50 and fabulous. It’s hard to find things that are age appropriate and that fit!
I would like to take a moment to introduce you to a great new womens premium denim line. Now the jeans aren’t for everyone, the jeans focus on a group that does not get alot of attention. The Curvy shaped females. The jeans are absolutely fabulous for curvy shaped women of all sizes. The brand is Little in the Middle. The thing that makes the brand stand out is that it is sized one size smaller in the waist than in the hips, so it eliminates that awful gap in the back of your jeans that let your rear end hang out while offering a great fit. Just a mention to the curvy shape ladys that someone is thinking of them.
Thanks,
